Pay Range

This range is provided by YMCA of Metuchen Edison Woodbridge and South Amboy. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range

$15.49/hr - $17.00/hr

Position Summary

Under the supervision and guidance of the Director or assigned supervisor, the Youth Enrichment Specialty Instructor will be responsible for instructing enrichment classes in his/her assigned or specialty area, such as Archery, Martial Arts, or Youth Sports.

Essential Functions

• Ensure all health and safety guidelines are strictly followed.
• Arrive on time to set up equipment/materials and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
• Take attendance during each class and ensure all participants have signed in.
• Ensure children are accompanied by an adult when required and supervised at all times.
• Maintain a cheerful attitude, engaging children and families in activities/classes.
• Accurately punch in and out.
• Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings.
• Interact professionally and courteously with YMCA members, staff, and participants, reflecting core values.
• Adhere to YMCA appearance policy, including staff shirt/smock and appropriate pants.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Preferably 18+ years of age.
• Strong background in the specialty area.
• Experience instructing or leading groups.
• Ability to mentor children and connect with families.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Normal walking, standing, sitting, running, jumping, lifting, pushing, pulling, speaking, reading, and writing.
