Join us as a Youth Enrichment Specialty Instructor at the YMCA of Metuchen Edison Woodbridge and South Amboy

We are hiring for the position of Youth Enrichment Specialty Instructor at the YMCA of Metuchen Edison Woodbridge and South Amboy. This role involves instructing enrichment classes in areas such as Archery, Martial Arts, and Youth Sports.

Pay Range

The pay range provided is $15.49/hr to $17.00/hr, based on skills and experience. Please discuss with your recruiter for more details.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Director or assigned supervisor, the instructor will be responsible for delivering enrichment classes, ensuring safety, engagement, and a positive environment for children and families.

Essential Functions
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
  • Arrive on time to set up equipment and prepare for classes.
  • Take attendance and ensure all participants sign in.
  • Supervise children and ensure they are accompanied by an adult when necessary.
  • Engage with children and families in a cheerful and professional manner.
  • Accurately record attendance and hours worked.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and reflect YMCA core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Preferably 18 years or older.
  • Strong background in the specialty area.
  • Experience in instructing or leading groups.
  • Ability to mentor children and connect with families.
Physical Requirements and Conditions

Involves walking, standing, sitting, running, jumping, lifting, pushing, pulling, speaking, reading, and writing.
