Job summary

East Side House Settlement in the Bronx seeks a Youth Educator for the Compass Elementary School Program at P.S. 154. You will design and lead enrichment activities after school hours, including homework help, robotics, sports, karate, dance, and music to support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.

Reporting to the Program Director, you will work on a part-time, seasonal schedule and collaborate with staff to foster positive development in a diverse urban community.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some college preferred.
• Two years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience required.
• Bilingual ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify, create, and facilitate age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Work as part of a collaborative team and support specialists.
• Prepare a welcoming learning environment showing participants' work.
• Build positive relations with youth and adults as a role model.
• Ensure health, safety and well-being of participants in activities.
• Maintain attendance records and required program documentation.
• Organize materials and manage storage to prevent loss.
• Participate in professional development and supervision.
• Organize and participate in external events to promote the agency.
• Adhere to all ESH policies and procedures.
