Job summary

The YMCA Chicago is seeking Youth Enrichment Instructors to support child-centered environments at several elementary school locations in Chicago. You will help promote learning, character development, positive relationships, and healthy living while ensuring safety and a nurturing program experience.

These roles offer consistent weekday shifts (AM, lunch, recess, and/or PM), competitive pay, health benefits, PTO, wellness resources, retirement contributions, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• 17+ years old with relevant experience or coursework in childcare, education, or recreation.
• Strong communicator, enthusiastic leader, and passionate about youth development and equity.

Position Overview

Youth Enrichment Instructors will assist in providing child-centered environments that promote learning, character development, positive & nurturing relationships and healthy living on-site at one of our elementary school locations. The YEI plays a key role in ensuring that program participants have a safe, supportive, interactive and enriching program experience while ensuring the safety and security of all program participants.

Competitive pay: $18.50–$19.45/hr

Child Abuse Prevention

• Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor.
• Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to monitoring and supervision of children.
• Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor.
• Completing all child abuse prevention training as required.
