Newground Together is seeking a motivated Youth Worker on a part-time, permanent basis to support youth-focused projects for ages 8–18. You’ll work in a team to create safe, inclusive environments, build relationships and promote positive development across community youth provision.

The role includes evenings/weekends, safeguarding duties, and potential to contribute to a new youth hub. Salary is £30,476 pa pro rata (£14,414.32 for 17.5 hrs/wk), with generous annual leave and employer benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working directly with young people aged 8–25 and supporting their development.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion with ability to build trust with diverse groups.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, data protection and safe working practices.
• Ability to manage priorities, work collaboratively and adapt to changing needs.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use during working hours.
• Existing Level 3 Youth Work qualification or willingness to work towards it within a set timeframe.

Responsabilités

• Plan, deliver and evaluate inclusive youth work sessions to support development.
• Build relationships and empower young people to shape activities and lead sessions.
• Support access to wellbeing, education, employment and other services.
• Promote safeguarding, equality, and inclusion following policies.
• Support volunteers through induction, guidance and engagement.
• Collaborate with partners to improve opportunities for young people.
• Maintain records, monitor outcomes and contribute to targets.
• Complete risk assessments and report hazards to ensure safe activities and venues.
• Help manage resources and support day-to-day youth provision.
