Job summary
The State of Missouri Division of Youth Services is hiring an Education Specialist to develop curriculum, plan lessons, and deliver instruction in day treatment and residential programs for youth. Candidates should be prepared to implement individualized education plans and collaborate with families, while maintaining safety and compliance with state guidelines.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field with a valid teaching certificate, or a combination of
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with a valid teaching certificate.
- Bachelor’s degree with ability to obtain a teaching certificate within 90 days of hire.
- Master’s degree in Education or SPED with certification and related experience.
Responsibilities
- Implement group and individual education plans and prepare learning materials.
- Confer with parents and students regarding progress and needs.
- Adhere to state and federal testing guidelines and mandates.
- Prepare reports on client progress and maintain attendance records.
- Administer and score pre/post tests.
- Provide Awareness Supervision for youth safety and conduct.
- Transport and escort youth in daily and emergency situations.
