Job summary

Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice seeks an Educational Aide for the Gainesville RYDC in Gainesville, GA (NSC). The role assists teachers with curriculum planning, supervises students, and reinforces learning concepts in a classroom setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a school setting or related field.
• Associate degree from an accredited institution in general education, sociology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to teachers to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment.
• Assists teachers in planning and preparation for daily activities; aids instructional efforts of the teacher.
• Assists the teacher in preparing lesson outlines, plans, and curricula in assigned areas.
• Plans, prepares, and develops teaching aids for classroom use.
• Presents subject matter to students under a teacher's guidance using various methods.
• Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments.
• Perform clerical duties in support of classroom activities.
• Operate and care for instructional equipment and materials.
• Observe and control student behavior as per procedures.
• Participate in professional growth activities.
• Follow the policies and procedures of the school district.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
