Youth Ministry Director / Ministry Assistant

Role Summary

Reality Carpinteria is seeking a faithful, relational, and highly organized Youth Director / Ministry Assistant to serve in a dual‑role position. This person will help lead and grow our ministry to junior high and high school students while also supporting the day‑to‑day administrative and communication needs of the church. This role is ideal for someone who loves Jesus, loves students, communicates well, and can bring both warmth and strong organizational follow‑through to ministry. The right person will be able to build meaningful relationships, develop healthy ministry rhythms, support churchwide communication, and help create order and clarity behind the scenes.

Primary Areas of Responsibility
Youth Ministry Leadership (25 hours per week)
  • Lead and help develop Reality Carpinteria’s ministry to junior high and high school students
  • Build a welcoming, gospel‑centered, and relational environment for students
  • Plan and lead weekly youth gatherings, discipleship rhythms, and special events
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers serving in youth ministry
  • Disciple students through teaching, presence, encouragement, and relationship
  • Partner with parents and help students grow into the broader life of the church
Ministry Assistant (15 hours per week)
  • Manage churchwide communications, including newsletters, website updates, and announcement copy
  • Schedule and organize communication needs in a clear and timely way
  • Submit copy to Pastor Mike for review and approval
  • Help cover the front desk and welcome visitors and appointments with hospitality
  • Answer phones and help manage info@realitycarp.com
  • Support general office administration and staff coordination
  • Coordinate seasonal events and special projects
Qualifications

  • Proven leadership in youth ministry
