Job summary

St. Timothy Lutheran Church in the San Diego area seeks a part-time Youth Director to guide and grow our youth ministry, creating meaningful opportunities for children and youth to grow in faith and build healthy relationships.

The role reports to the Senior Pastor and Church Council Executive Committee. It requires a faith-driven, energetic, compassionate individual with strong communication and organizational skills to work with youth and families.

Qualifications

• Educational background with, or related to Youth Ministry.
• Experience working with youth in a church setting.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A strong Christian faith.
• Background check required.
• Mandated Reporter training must be completed within 6 weeks of hire.
• First aid, CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all youth.
• Plan and lead regular youth gatherings (weekly or bi-weekly).
• Build positive relationships with our youth and their families.
• Coordinate and support youth participation in church events.
• Organize faith-based activities, service projects, and outreach events.

Position Overview

We are seeking a faith-driven, energetic, compassionate individual to serve as our Part-Time Youth Director. This person will help guide and grow our youth ministry, creating meaningful opportunities for children and youth to grow in faith and build healthy relationships with each other. The Youth Director would work under the direction of the Senior Pastor and be an important part of our ministry team. This person will report to the Church Council’s Executive committee.

Schedule:
