Job summary

St. Timothy Lutheran Church in the San Diego area is seeking a faith-driven, energetic Youth Director to guide and grow our youth ministry.

This part-time role reports to the Senior Pastor and works with the Church Council Executive committee to create meaningful faith-building opportunities for children and teens. The ideal candidate has prior experience working with youth in a church setting, strong communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Educational background with, or related to Youth Ministry.
• Experience working with youth in a church setting.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A strong Christian faith.
• Background check required.
• Mandated Reporter training must be completed within 6 weeks of hire.
• First aid and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead regular youth gatherings (weekly or bi-weekly)

Position Overview

We are seeking a faith-driven, energetic, compassionate individual to serve as our Part‑Time Youth Director. This person will help guide and grow our youth ministry, creating meaningful opportunities for children and youth to grow in faith and build healthy relationships with each other. The Youth Director would work under the direction of the Senior Pastor and be an important part of our ministry team. This person will report to the Church Council’s Executive committee.

Schedule:

Approximately 15-20 hours per week, flexible, including evenings and occasional weekends
