Job summary

Boys & Girls Club of Manhattan is seeking an after-school program assistant to plan, implement, supervise, and promote educational activities for children and youth. The role supports a safe, caring environment and helps participants develop new skills after school, during the summer, and on Friday evenings.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, monitoring safety and behavior, keeping records, and coordinating with unit directors.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience working with children or youth preferred.
Knowledge of youth development and positive youth engagement.
Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with youth.
Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior.
Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
Ability to provide academic support in a patient, encouraging manner.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
CPR/First Aid certification (training provided).

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, supervise, and promote educational activities and programs after school for children and youth.
Create an environment that facilitates Youth Development Outcomes.
Oversee proper record keeping and reporting of activities and participant data.
Ensure safety and quality of programs and maintain Club appearance at all times.
Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of members.
