Job summary

University Settlement Society of New York invites applications for a Part-Time Youth Program Assistant to support middle and high school students after school in Lower Manhattan. You will create and lead engaging activities for up to 20 youth, ensure safety, and support academic tasks while building positive relationships with families.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with a HS diploma or GED, and experience with youth.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with middle and high school students.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Create and lead engaging activities for up to 20 youth, ensuring safety and comfort of students throughout program.
• Design and implement lesson plans for multidisciplinary activities using knowledge of positive youth development.
• Assist with homework period to provide academic support.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and problem solving.
• Maintain responsibility for program supplies and facility usage; complete necessary documentation.
