Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is seeking a part-time program assistant in Hillsboro, OR to support after-school activities for youth. You will supervise, check-in/out members, and uphold safety and health policies while delivering quality programming.

Required include a high school diploma or equivalent, 6 months of youth experience, CPR/First Aid certification, and ability to work 2pm–7pm weekdays with summer hours. Pay is $12.60 per hour plus paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Minimum 6 months experience working with youth.
• Available to work 2pm–7pm, Mon–Fri during school year; up to 37.5 hours in summer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and health policies at the site.
• Provide excellent front desk customer service and check-in/out members.
• Manage data entry and required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Promote a culture of safety and quality programming.
• De-escalate conflicts and act as a positive role model.
• Attend to attendance and program activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Facility and Child Safety

• Accountable for adherence to all organizational health and safety policies and implementation of all safety practices and procedures at assigned site
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect members, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities. Abide by facility maintenance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance
• Accountable for reporting incidents and completing documentation within required timeline
• Maintain discipline, de-escalate conflict between members and/or others
• Obtain and renew CPR and First Aid certification by deadline

Administrative Compliance

• Complete all required reports and administrative duties on time.
• Collect and manage required data and internal and external reporting. Ensure accuracy of data and reporting. Ensure the effective completion of all assessment and measurement activities of programs
• Comply with all administrative policies and procedures, processes and controls
• Accountable for accurate and timely collection and review of membership application
• Accountable for accurate and timely paperwork, reports, and data entry
• Accountable for utilizing all BGCGTC communication tools regularly and effectively

Branch Programming

• Accountable for assigned programming and activities
• Accountable for quality programming and activities and implementing YPQ techniques
• Accountable for promoting and maintaining a culture of safety in program area(s)
• Accountable for assigned special programs and initiatives

Front Desk Operations

• Accountable for providing excellent customer service
• Accountable for enforcing all security, safety, and health protocols
• Accountable for managing front door traffic efficiently and effectively
• Accountable for ensuring members are checked in/out properly utilizing childcare management systems

Relationships

• Be a positive role model
• Maintain emotional control and make good decisions under pressure
• Represent the Boys & Girls Club in a positive manner

Attendance

• Regular attendance is required; arrive on time, work required hours/shift, and leave at scheduled time

NONESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Complete all other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and work experience requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
• Minimum 6 months experience working with youth

Qualifications include:

• Available to work between the hours of 2pm-7pm Monday - Friday during school year; up to 37.5 hours per week during summer Monday - Friday
• Ability to be a positive role model
• Ability to establish rapport and build relationships
• Ability to relate to at-risk youth
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
• Must be able to pass any and all required background screens and drug screens at any time
