Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County is seeking a Youth Development Professional for the Live Oak Clubhouse in Santa Cruz, CA. This part-time, seasonal role focuses on planning and delivering engaging programs across Education, Social Recreation, Creative Arts, and Physical Education, aligning with club standards.

You will mentor youth, supervise activities, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment while supporting program evaluation and records.

Qualifications

• At least one year of work experience in a youth-focused program.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to lead groups and manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a range of programs that are fun, creative, instructional, and engaging.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming environment and guide members in various activities.
• Mentor youth, build positive relationships, and model good values.
• Supervise members on-site, ensure safety and proper behavior, and communicate with parents as needed.
• Keep spaces clean and equipment well-maintained; participate in program evaluation.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; support special programs or events as needed.
