Job summary

Career Systems Development Corporation in Ottumwa, IA is seeking a Social Development Specialist to support and supervise students across multiple shifts. The role focuses on mentoring, safety, and life-skills development for youth aged 16-24 within the Job Corps program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: 1 year of education or similar field experience.
• CPR & First Aid Certification obtained.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in adjusting to Center life by mentoring and supervision.
• Perform daily safety inspections and report issues.
• Supervise daily activities including hygiene, chores, recreation, meals.
• Ensure wake-up procedures and attendance records.
• Organize and direct recreational and life skills activities.
• Provide informal counseling on stress, home situations, and behaviors.
