Job summary

Urban Dove Team Charter School in Memphis seeks a Youth Development Director (DYD) to implement and sustain a sport-based youth development program for all students. This year‑round role reports to the School Leader and leads the Department of Youth Development, focusing on behavior systems, staff development, and connections with social workers.

Responsibilities

• Serve on the school's leadership team.
• Supervise the Department of Youth Development members.
• Train staff in behavior standards and restorative practices.
• Embed TLCs for behavior.
• Conduct observations of coaches.
• Lead professional development for the department.
• Address performance issues with staff.
• Oversee coaching documentation and data tracking.
• Collaborate with social workers on Youth Development sessions.
• Secure support for high-need students.
• Manage department budget and equipment inventory.
• Organize sports-based events and logistics.
• Coordinate space and permits for SBYD.
• Collaborate with Special Education Coordinator on Restorative Plans.
• Mentor a student group.
• Analyze behavior data.
• Oversee TLC Store and transitions.
• Attend School Athletic Competitions.
• Ensure interscholastic League compliance.
• Design and monitor SBYD curriculum.
