Job summary

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS OF THE NORTH VALLEY is seeking a Youth Development Counselor for the Butte County Juvenile Hall site. The role develops and implements the Formula for Impact across core program areas and supports grants and academic enrichment initiatives.

The position requires First Aid/CPR, TB test, and thorough background checks. Part-time, evenings and weekends with varied hours, under the Site Director supervision.

Qualifications

• First Aid & CPR certification is required.
• TB test must be passed.
• FBI/DOJ and overall background checks required.
• Complete juvenile hall background checks and trainings directed by probation.
• Two years of experience in recreational programming with youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement programs at Butte County Juvenile Hall.
• Maintain safety, security, and appearance of the Club facilities.
• Report supplies needed for facility and programs.
• Promote activities via bulletin boards, flyers and newsletters.
• Coordinate spontaneous and structured activities aligned with Core Program areas.
• Assist with Club programming, events, and collaboration with partner schools.
• Maintain paperwork tracking programs, participation, and grants.
