Job summary

YMCA is seeking a Child Care Staff in Rhode Island to support supervision and classroom management under the Director’s guidance. You will help implement curriculum, maintain safety and cleanliness, and interact with children in a caring, developmentally appropriate manner.

The role requires a minimum of 18 years old, a high school diploma, CPR/First Aid within 6 months, and DHS paperwork completion. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/First Aid Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Completion of all DHS paperwork and trainings.
• Ability to understand and comply with YMCA Child Abuse Prevention policies.
• Background check and screening per YMCA standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day operation in the assigned area.
• Maintain appropriate child-to-staff ratios at all times.
• Provide active supervision and ensure safety of children.
• Plan developmentally appropriate activities for the group.
• Communicate with program families in a positive manner.
• Participate in staff trainings and meetings.
