Job summary

Greatfuturessd in Elkton, SD seeks a Youth Development Professional to act as a positive role model, guide and encourage youth, and design activities to support their welfare and development. The role emphasizes building relationships, promoting healthy behaviors, and fostering teamwork within a safe, supportive environment.

The position is part-time, non-exempt, with four-day weeks and seasonal hours to align with school-year and summer program needs.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
Commitment to working four days a week.
Ability to create a class schedule for upcoming semester to meet Boys & Girls Club needs.
Commitment to working at the Club during the summer.
Must work within school year operating hours of the Club.
Must work within summer operating hours of the Club.
Must understand and apply behavior management principles and youth-related modalities as per the Club values and safety.

Responsibilities

Assist in enforcing rules and modeling positive behavior for youth.
Oversee daily operations of recreation areas and safety equipment.
Organize and facilitate daily activities: games, fitness events, arts and crafts, music.
Encourage participation and healthy relationships among members.
Assess group dynamics and collaborate with leadership to plan activities.
Complete paperwork, incident reports, evaluations, and activity assessments.
