Job summary

Alpha School is seeking a Youth Development Specialist to lead life-skills workshops for K-8 cohorts and provide individual motivation coaching using analytics and rewards systems. This role is on-site at a campus with relocation options for multiple US locations.

You will administer mastery assessments, push students toward 100% weekly goals, and foster a supportive relationship that helps students grow confidence and achievement. A bachelor’s degree and 3+ years with K-8 students are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• At least 3 years with K-8 students in teaching, tutoring, coaching, or youth programs
• Comfort with using adaptive learning to support motivation and life-skills coaching

Responsibilities

• Lead one-hour life-skills workshops for K-8 cohorts on public speaking, focus, and feedback
• Conduct daily 1:1 and small-group motivation sessions using Coachbot analytics
• Administer the Test2Pass mastery assessment and re-coach until mastery
• Adapt workshop playbooks to different ages and build new sessions as gaps are found
• Be the standard setter and trusted adult for students
