Job summary

The City of Indianapolis Marion County is seeking a seasoned supervisor to oversee team leaders and front-line staff at Marion County Community Corrections facilities. You will supervise clients, develop and monitor case plans, coordinate services, and train staff on arrivals, releases, and monitoring.

The role requires on-call duty 24/7 with weekend/holiday rotation, and involvement in policy development, budgeting, and records management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Management, or related field.
  • Eight years of experience in a similar field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must pass State IRAS certification exam within six (6) months of employment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of leadership, management, contracts, personnel and process performance measurement.

Responsibilities

  • Provides input for development and assists with review of policies and procedures relating to community corrections including operations, case management, security, field team, work release, and maintenance.
  • Maintains crisis intervention training and deescalation skills in interactions with team-members and clients.
  • Reviews and monitors client treatment plans and programs, schedules clients for programs, monitors participation, and ensures compliance to program rules and regulations.
  • Attends court hearings as needed.
  • Utilizes motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Utilizes and ensures team-members utilize the Eight Principles of Effective Intervention in the daily duties while working with the clients.
  • Supervises the screening process for all community corrections referrals and ensures coordination with local and out of county and state entities regarding placement.
