Job summary

City of Arlington seeks a Day Camp Leader at Dottie Lynn Recreation Center to supervise activities for children aged 5–12 in a part-time day camp. You will guide recreational and enrichment activities, promote safety and inclusion, and model positive behavior in both indoor and outdoor settings.

You will help with setup and cleanup, communicate with campers and parents, enforce camp rules, and assist with basic first aid as needed, while maintaining flexibility across a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities for ages 5–12.
• Knowledge of safety practices and emergency response procedures in camps.
• Strong group management and positive behavior strategies.
• Effective communication with children, parents, and staff.
• Flexible schedule; works indoors and outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise children 5–12 in camp activities.
• Ensure safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
• Assist with setup, organization, and cleanup of daily activities.
• Communicate with campers and team members to support a positive experience.
• Enforce camp rules and model respectful behavior.
• Administer basic first aid per SOPs.
• Resolve minor behavior issues before escalation.
