YMCA of Greater Louisville seeks an Assistant Dance Instructor to create a welcoming, inclusive space where youth ages 3-12 learn through movement and build confidence. You will support the Lead Instructor, plan engaging classes, and help prepare performances while modeling YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and verbal skills.
• Dancing background experience and/or certification preferred.
• Ability to work with age groups 3-12 and handle varying skill levels.
• Model the YMCA core values in all interactions.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate dance classes.
• Learn choreographs and prepare participants for showcases.
• Teach in place of Lead Instructor when needed.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, inclusive class environment.
• Communicate clearly with parents/guardians about schedules and updates.
• Collaborate with Family Programs staff to ensure quality programs.
