Job summary

The Wood Group Behavioral Health Services in Round Rock, TX seeks compassionate Behavioral Health Technicians to support youth in crisis with safety, care, and structured daily activities. You will monitor residents, assist with meals, complete charting, and follow policies to promote dignity and recovery.

Requires a high school diploma, 21+ years old, and empathy with strong communication. Training is provided; rotating day and overnight shifts available in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Additional training in mental health or behavioral support preferred.
• Prior experience working with youth or in a mental health setting is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
• Basic knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Able to work every other weekend is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise youth in a crisis setting to ensure safety and well-being.
• Cook and serve meals. Follow the facility menu as posted.
• Responsible for completing items listed on the facility Chore Sheet as directed by the administrator.
• Responsible for assuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Daily chart documentation.
• Maintain a safe, clean and structured environment.
• Follow facility policies, procedures, and confidentially standards at all time.
• Be familiar with The Wood Group's policy and procedures to include employee handbook.
