Positions Available: Day Shift, Night Shift, and PRN, with pay rates from $16.50 to $18.25

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a positive, supportive role model guiding youth through group activities to boost confidence and self-esteem, ensuring their progress and welfare through therapeutic programs. Supervise staff during various shifts, including overnight.
  • Lead youth through daily activities, providing group and individual counseling with an emphasis on strength-based development and cognitive behavioral therapy, helping youth define and achieve their life goals.
Qualifications:
  • Must be 21 or older per DJJ guidelines
  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years' relevant experience working with youth; Bachelor's in social/behavioral services or outdoor recreation preferred. Alternatively, 2+ years of college in social or human services can substitute experience.
  • Experience in therapeutic/rehabilitative settings preferred
  • Ability to travel across property and wilderness terrain, pass crisis intervention/physical restraint certification, participate in aquatic activities, and stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and ensure client safety, including shift work supervision.
  • Must meet requirements for Eckerd's auto insurance and hold a valid driver’s license or state ID.
  • Must pass a drug screening in accordance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.

About our Program:

Eckerd Connects' Short-Term Juvenile Justice Residential program offers a 4-6 month rehabilitative experience for adjudicated male youth, ages 13-17, referred by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Division of Juvenile Justice. The program combines evidence-based practices with family transition support, academic plans, behavioral health, and family counseling in a non-punitive environment, focusing on strength-based approaches and small group work.
