Job summary

Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections seeks a Training Manager (Academy Commander) to oversee staff training and the preservice academy for Youth Corrections Officers. You will develop training strategies, create curricula, and coordinate delivery across departments, ensuring ongoing staff readiness and performance.

You will lead a team of trainers, supervise instructors, and collaborate to identify training needs.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and delivering training for staff in a correctional or similar environment is preferred.
• Ability to design curriculum and training strategies and measure impact.
• Proven leadership and supervision of training staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preservice training academy and annual in-service training for staff.
• Facilitate classroom, computer-based, and on-the-job training.
• Mentor training officers and manage work delegation.
• Ensure training materials stay current and certifications are maintained.
• Report metrics to drive continuous improvement.
