Job summary

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission seeks an OPS Education Specialist for the Suncoast Youth Conservation Center. This year-round, marine-centric education and summer camp facility offers a hands-on role coordinating field trips and delivering conservation education to youth in the Tampa Bay region.

The position is 40 hours per week, with typical hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET, and occasional evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Six years of professional experience in natural science or education, with outdoor recreation or wildlife conservation experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate can substitute for required experience in education fields.
• Prior experience in education fields of outdoor recreation or natural science is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field trip advertising, scheduling, and program logistics.
• Provide welcoming guest service to visitors and support summer camp programming.
• Develop field trip content, curricula, and website materials with supervisor approval.
• Lead summer camp activities and ensure safety compliance and ACA standards.
