Job summary

Mark Twain Behavioral Health (MTBH) seeks a full-time Community Support Specialist for its Youth team in Kirksville, Missouri. Join a private not-for-profit community health organization serving Northeast Missouri since 1975 with a strong emphasis on wellness and client rights.

Responsibilities include assisting children, teaching living skills, coordinating meetings, and liaising with families and schools while maintaining compliant records. Travel and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in human services or related field.
• RN with at least two years of full-time psychiatric experience with children is acceptable.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or provided upon hire.
• Medication Aide Level I certification is required or provided upon hire.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Experience with youth is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist children whose behavior, school progress, or mental/physical conditions indicate need for support.
• Teach community living skills to youth.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary team meetings for assigned clients.
• Consult with parents, teachers, and school personnel to identify causes and solutions.
• Serve as a resource to school personnel and liaise with student, home, school, and community resources.
• Maintain clinical records compliant with program standards and agency policy.
• Contribute to development of treatment planning.
• Coordinate medical, psychiatric, and other tests/examinations as needed.
• Represent MTBH in the community at local interagency meetings.
