Job summary

Rock Spot Climbing in Lincoln, RI seeks Youth Program Instructors to deliver engaging weekly classes and special programming at our facility. You will provide exceptional customer service to young students and their families while maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment.

Under supervision of the Program and Gym Managers, you’ll plan lessons, teach hands-on climbing skills, and help run programs; you’ll engage diverse youth, work nights/weekends, and uphold our mission and core values.

Qualifications

• Outgoing, friendly personality.
• Schooling in education, recreation, or a related field preferred.
• Previous indoor rock climbing and belaying experience.
• Experience teaching/coaching a hands on skill or sport.
• Experience working with youth of all ages.
• Experience creating or implementing lesson plans.
• Ability to work nights/weekends.
• Ability to engage an audience.
• Ability to enforce rules and regulations.
• Detail oriented and organized.
• Punctual and reliable.
• CPR and First Aid (or willing to acquire).

Responsibilities

• Personalized Lesson Planning - Implement and monitor lesson plans and curriculum while adapting and modifying lessons based on the needs of individual students.
• Terrific Teamwork - Operate as part of a team and be able to perform all floor staff functions.

Youth Program Instructors at Rock Spot Climbing are responsible for providing excellent customer service to young students and their families by running weekly classes and special programming at our facilities. Youth Program instructors work under the supervision of the Program and Gym Managers of their facilities.
