Job summary

Touchstone Climbing in Berkeley is seeking a passionate coach to help shape the next generation of climbers. You will coach the Dev Team and/or Camp and Club, focusing on various climbing techniques, while preparing engaging training sessions tailored to youth of different skill levels.

Qualifications

• Proficient in bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing with a solid understanding of climbing fundamentals.

• Innovative in creating fun, engaging, and effective coaching sessions.
• Excited to work as part of a team to provide an exceptional experience for our climbers.
• Must be available to coach on specified days and times.

Berkeley Ironworks is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic coach to work with our ------------- All coaching shifts occur between 3:45 PM and 7:30 PM. The ideal candidate will bring a strong climbing background, a passion for coaching youth, and a creative approach to instruction. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the next generation of climbers in a supportive and engaging environment. This job starts ASAP.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach the Dev Team and/or Camp and Club, focusing on bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing.
• Teach and reinforce climbing techniques such as footwork, body positioning, movement efficiency, and route reading.
• Develop and lead strength training programs tailored to the needs of youth climbers, emphasizing injury prevention and appropriate strength gains.
• Create an enjoyable and engaging learning environment for kids of various ability levels and learning styles.
• Collaborate with other coaches to design and implement high-quality training programs for Team Touchstone.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes growth, learning, and a love for climbing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Competition Climbing Experience: Experience in competitive climbing is desirable, but not required.
  
  

Compensation And How To Apply

Starting pay is $20 an hour for Club and Camp roles and $21.50 an hour when coaching at the Comp Team level.
