Job summary

Touchstone Climbing seeks a Club Coach for Northern California to lead youth climbing sessions and help build engaging training programs for clubs and camps.

The role emphasizes developing age-appropriate curricula, collaborating with other coaches, and delivering a high-energy, safe learning experience for climbers of all abilities. Part-time, on-site position with flexible shifts and team support.

Qualifications

• Experienced in bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing.
• Sound understanding of climbing techniques such as footwork, body positioning, movement efficiency, route reading.
• Patience and passion for working with kids at multiple ability levels and learning styles.
• Creative, fun approach to climbing instruction and curriculum; makes learning enjoyable and engaging.
• Interest in creating high quality training curriculum and programming for Climbing Clubs and Kids Camps.
• Willingness to collaborate with other coaches to provide an exceptional team experience.
• Available to work additional support shifts at assigned gym.

Responsibilities

• Lead climbing sessions for kids and climbers in diverse programs.
• Develop and improve training curriculum and programming for Climbing Clubs and Kids Camps.
• Collaborate with fellow coaches to deliver an engaging, safe, high-energy coaching environment.
• Be flexible to cover additional shifts as needed by the gym.

Qualifications

• Experienced in bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing.
• Sound understanding of climbing techniques such as footwork, body positioning, movement efficiency, route reading, etc.
• Has the patience and passion for working with kids at a variety of ability levels and learning styles.
• Brings a creative, fun approach to climbing instruction and curriculum; makes learning how to climb enjoyable and engaging.
• Interested in creating high quality training curriculum and programming for the Climbing Clubs and Kids Camps.
• Excited to collaborate with other coaches to facilitate an exceptional team experience for our climbers.
• Applicants must also be available to work additional support shifts at their assigned gym.

Compensation And How To Apply

Starting pay is $18.50 an hour, and varies based on geographical location and gym location.
