Job summary

HeartShare Human Services of New York seeks an Employment Specialist to drive youth employment readiness through workshops, one-on-one sessions, and community partnerships. After a 90-day probation, the role offers a hybrid schedule with three days in-office and two remote days, supporting career readiness and data-driven outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Master's degree or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years' experience working with youth ages 14-26 required; 5-7 years strongly preferred.
• Bi-Lingual preferred: Not required, but helpful if possessed.
• Standard Hours: 9 am - 5 pm; 40 Hours Flex, special events during evening hours required monthly.

Responsibilities

• Provide employment-focused engagements to motivate youth in group home settings.
• Lead group and individual engagement services and workshops, in person and virtually.
• Maintain structured engagement schedule; contact youth bi-weekly, with weekly/daily follow-up as needed.
• Sign up eligible youth for SYEP and place them in departments throughout the agency.
• Update workforce development tracker weekly and maintain accurate client records.
