Job summary

JEVS is seeking a Placement Counselor to support the Program Director and Career Navigator with operations and business engagement. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with employers for work experience with youth, plus delivering career readiness activities to boost participant retention and goal achievement.

The position includes career readiness training, paid work experiences, and case management, with a hybrid schedule requiring at least 3 days onsite weekly in Dauphin

Qualifications

• Experience with program operations and stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with workforce development programs and employer outreach.

Responsibilities

• Maintain working knowledge of TANF and Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare regulations.
• Prepare periodic written reports (statistical and narrative).
• Participate in supervisory and team meetings and division meetings.
• Participate in contract compliance and achievement of program goals.
• Collaborate with staff to provide community service sites, job search, and job placement activities.
• Place clients in community service sites and jobs to meet contract goals.
• Use assessment results and software for customized job development, matching, and placement.
• Develop on-going relationships with area employers to ensure placements and job opportunities.
• Prepare clients for placements through mock interviews and job skills workshops.
