Job summary

Youth Opportunities Unlimited seeks a Career Coach to implement the JOG program within partner public schools in Northeast Ohio. You will deliver curriculum, mentor youth, recruit new students, and coordinate with school administration to guide graduates toward their future goals.

The role emphasizes soft-skill development, classroom instruction, and follow-up support for graduates for up to a year after high school. Relevant experience and a valid transportation plan are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Services or related field.
• Minimum 6 months of experience teaching at-risk high-school students.
• Experience with databases and database management.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Manage a roster of JOG students at an assigned public educational institution.
• Create and deliver the JOG curriculum using program guidelines and materials.
• Pursue diverse teaching methods including lectures, group discussions, and activities.
• Document and ensure students complete required community service goals.
• Lead and assist youth in finalizing career plans by year end.
• Recruit, enroll, schedule, and develop youth for future JOG courses.
• Build positive relationships with students, school staff, and parents.
