Job summary

Rite of Passage is hiring a Youth Care Worker for Walton Academy for Growth and Change in DeFuniak Springs, FL. You will provide 24-hour supervision and support for male youths aged 13–19 in a high-risk DJJ residential program, monitoring behaviors and participating in sports and recreation while mentoring youth.

Four weeks of paid training is provided. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED (or 1 year working with youth) and a valid driver’s license; drug, TB, and background checks are

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and 40 hours of college education OR have one-year experience working with youth in organized group activities and possess a valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to pass a drug test and TB test.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check through DJJ and DCF.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour security and supervision to ensure the safety of youth in a high-risk residential DJJ program for male youths ages 13–19.
• Monitor and document youth behaviors; supervise during sports and recreation; mentor youth in the program.
