Walton Academy for Growth and Change in DeFuniak Springs, FL is hiring a Youth Care Worker for our high-risk residential program for male youths ages 13-19. The role offers 24-hour supervision, training, and a pathway to growth within a caring, goal-oriented team.

You will start at $19 per hour with bi-weekly pay, plus a $1,000 bonus after successfully completing Essential Skills Training within 90 days. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k match, and PTO after accrual.

Located near the white sand beaches of Northwest Florida in DeFuniak Springs - At Walton Academy, we provide residential treatment to improving the lives of Youth through mental health and substance abuse services. We offer skills and opportunities to our youth from Carpentry/Home Building Institute to Culinary Arts.

Pay: Starting at $19 per hour, paid bi-weekly.

What you will do: As a Youth Care Worker, you will provide 24-hour security and supervision to always ensure the safety of our Youth at a HIGH-RISK residential treatment DJJ program for male youths between the ages of 13-19. You will monitor and document behaviors, monitor and join the Youth during Sports and Recreation time and assist and mentor the youth while they learn and develop within the program. Four weeks of paid training is provided to all new staff.

To be considered you should: Possess a High School Diploma or GED and 40 hours of college education OR have one-year experience working with youth in organized group activities and possess a valid Driver’s License.

Schedule: Our Youth Care Workers currently work 3.5 days per week. For Example – A Shift works 7 am to 8 pm Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. Both shifts work 8 hours on Wednesday each week. B Shift works 7 am to 8pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday. This gives our Youth Care Workers 3.5 days off each week.
