Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks a Youth Care Worker to oversee safety and daily activities for youth in secure care settings. You will interact with youths, support treatment plans, and promote positive behavior through effective communication and problem-solving.

The role requires at least 2 years of youth care experience, an associate-level degree, and current CPR/health certificate where applicable. You will respond to emergencies and help redirect youths to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the care, custody, or personal guidance of youth
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Job description

The Youth Care Worker (YCW) is responsible for the oversight and safety of children or adolescents in a variety of secure setting care settings. The Youth Care Worker will interact with the youth in a positive manner while assisting them with daily activities and implementing treatment plans.

The Youth Care Worker will display a professional and caring attitude and will encourage positive behaviors through effective communication, decision-making, and problem-solving. The Youth Care Worker will respond to emergencies and assist in the redirection of youth when needed.

• Associate’s Degree in social sciences, counseling, behavioral sciences, human services, criminal justice, education, or child development preferred
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the care, custody, or personal guidance of youth
• Bilingual or multilingual may be preferred in some settings
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
