A Youth Care Specialist works closely with our youth, ensuring our residents are safe and programming successfully within our facility. In this role, you will be responsible for providing daily care and supervision to our residents, while working collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure the delivery of quality care. This position allows you to utilize your creativity to support our youth daily. The Specialist provides direct care, safety, security, and supervision of residents through positive role modeling. The Youth Care Specialist actively works to support the facility's mission of providing a safe environment where residents feel empowered to heal and build hope for the future.

Foundations For Living is an 84-bed secure residential treatment facility for youth addressing mental health and substance abuse issues, located on the edge of Mansfield, Ohio, on 14 wooded acres with easy access to I-71.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Experience:
At least one year of experience working with at-risk youth in a residential setting, with the ability to work collaboratively, maintain professionalism, and pass background and drug screenings.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid State Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements and Certified in CPR and First Aid (included in orientation).
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, handle objects, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distant, and peripheral vision, color and depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Therapeutic Hold:
May occasionally need to physically restrain clients using authorized hold procedures as a last resort for safety.
Work Environment:
Residential facility setting with exposure to clients exhibiting challenging behaviors. May involve outside weather and local travel. Noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
