Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a Part Time Child Watch Staff member for evenings and weekends at the East Boston YMCA. You will provide care for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years while parents participate in Healthy Living activities, ensuring safety and a welcoming environment.

Shifts are up to 5 hours; you will engage children with activities, supervise play, and model YMCA values. Prior child care experience and CPR/First Aid certification are required or obtained within 90 days

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in babysitting, child care or school setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with adults and children alike.

Responsibilities

• Keeps safety of children as first priority.
• Never leave the children unattended.
• Provide a fun, safe, and stimulating atmosphere for the children.
• Develop and foster a “family club” atmosphere by participating with members.
• Learn all emergency procedures and familiarize yourself with the first aid equipment.
• Keep room clean of food and small objects which may be choking hazards.
• Attend all staff meetings.
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
