Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston seeks a part-time Child Watch Staff at the Waltham YMCA to provide care for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years while their parents participate in YMCA activities.

Shifts are up to 5 hours; duties include supervising play, facilitating activities, and ensuring safety. Must have experience with children and strong communication skills; CPR/First Aid/AED certifications are required or obtained within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in babysitting, child care, or school setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with adults and children alike.

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe as the top priority; maintain personal safety and emotional well-being.
• Never leave children unattended.
• Provide a fun, safe, and stimulating atmosphere for children.
• Foster a welcoming, family-friendly environment with members.
• Be a positive role model and demonstrate YMCA values.
• Learn emergency procedures and be familiar with first aid equipment.
• Inspect room for hazards and keep it clean; close day tasks.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
