The Greater Austin YMCA in Austin, TX is seeking a boxing/martial arts instructor to lead age-appropriate programming and mentoring. You will design curricula, deliver dynamic sessions, and promote the Y’s values within a welcoming community.

You will foster engagement with youth, parents, and staff, maintain records, ensure safety, and continuously adapt the program to meet participants’ needs while serving as a YMCA ambassador.

Formación

• Previous experience as boxing or martial arts instructor.
• Strong knowledge of boxing techniques and self-defense.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to create and deliver age-appropriate training sessions.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement an age-appropriate boxing and martial arts curriculum.

• Motivate youth to set and achieve personal goals inside and outside the gym.
• Build relationships with participants, parents, and staff.
• Maintain accurate attendance, progress, and behavior records.
• Adjust curriculum to meet evolving needs and interests.
• Promote the YMCA values and community role.
• Model the Y's mission, vision, and values with participants, members, staff, and guests.
• Act as a YMCA ambassador and storyteller of our brand.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

How You Will Make an Impact (Essential Functions)

• Develop and implement an age-appropriate boxing and martial arts curriculum for participants.
• Conduct engaging and challenging training sessionsfocusedon boxing techniques, self-defense, and character development.
• Ensure the safety of participants by enforcing proper techniques, providing adequate supervision, andmaintaininga supportive and inclusive environment.
• Motivate and encourage youth to set and achieve personal goals, bothinside and outside the gym.
• Foster positive relationships with participants, parents, and staff members to support theoverall success of the program.
• Maintainaccuraterecords of participant attendance, progress, and behavior.
• Continuously assess and adjust the program curriculum to meettheevolving needs and interestsof participants .
• Promotethe YMCA's character values, mission, wellness philosophy, and role in the community.
• Lead by example the Y’s mission, vision, and values with program participants, members, staff, and guests.
• Become an Ambassador of the Y’s work and culture by being the ultimate storyteller of who we are as an organization and brand.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Community Enterprise

• Previousexperience as a boxinginstructoror martial arts instructor.
• Strong knowledge of boxing techniques, self-defense, and martial arts principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivatea diverse group of students.
• Demonstratedability to create and deliver dynamic and age-appropriate training sessions.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
• Additionalcertifications in martial arts disciplines such asTae KwonDoor mixed martial artsarepreferred.
• Bilingualproficiency(English/Spanish) is a plus.

$16.00-$40.00 per hour, DOE
