Job summary

Johnson County Government, Mental Health division, is seeking a Full-time Behavioral Health Specialist for the Youth Crisis Center in Olathe, KS. The unit operates 24/7, with an evening shift 3pm-11pm, Tuesday through Saturday, and occasional driving duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a human services field is required.
• A valid driver's license is preferred.
• Experience working with adolescents in a behavioral health setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides, assists with, or coaches individuals on personal care needs with limited supervision and crisis interventions.
• Teaches, coaches and provides guidance on skills to help youth manage emotions and recovery goals.
• Transports individuals to appointments, activities, and/or work.
• Documents mental and physical condition and coordinates care as needed.
