Job summary

Johnson County Government’s Adolescent Center for Treatment in Olathe is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist for overnight shifts. The role involves providing crisis interventions, supervising and coaching youth, monitoring medications, and documenting health status.

Candidates need a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year in a human services field; a valid driver’s license is preferred. Prior experience with adolescents in behavioral health is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum job requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a human services field.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record is preferred.
• Experience working with adolescents in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
• Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions.

Responsibilities

• Provides, assists with, or coaches individuals on personal care needs with limited supervision; conducts crisis interventions and monitors mental and physical condition of individuals.
• Teaches and coaches individuals on various skills to enable productive lives and supports treatment goals; maintains positive relationships with recipients, families, and service providers.
• Organizes and participates in care coordination meetings; completes documentation for direct services to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Transports individuals receiving services to appointments, activities, and/or work.
