Job summary

The Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist to join the Woodland Behavioral Health team under the Clinical Director.

You will support community-based prevention programs, youth and family engagement, and culturally responsive, trauma-informed services for AI/AN youth and families. You'll collaborate with the Program Coordinator to implement programming, facilitate youth groups, coordinate outreach and education, document services in the EHR, and

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a human service-related field or two years of related experience.
• Equivalency of education and experience acceptable.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches.

Responsibilities

• Implement youth and family-focused programming with Program Coordinator.
• Provide individual support, mentoring, and wellness check-ins for youth.
• Maintain contact with youth and families to promote engagement and reduce barriers to care.
• Facilitate youth groups using Project Venture curriculum with cultural activities and family engagement.
• Assist with outreach, awareness campaigns, and educational events on suicide, violence, substance use, and mental wellness.
• Support creation and distribution of marketing materials and social media content.
• Document services in the EHR and maintain tracking for services.
• Participate in team meetings, care coordination, and quality improvement efforts.
