Job summary

Phoenix House California is seeking a Child and Family Specialist to provide one-on-one support and behavioral interventions within a team-based, community-focused program in Los Angeles.

The role emphasizes teaching communication, anger management, problem-solving, and social skills, while coordinating with schools, courts, and services to support youth and families; manages a 10–12 client caseload.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience with high-risk youth.
• Valid California Driver's License and proof of car insurance.
• TB test clearance (annual).
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides one-on-one support and behavioral interventions to clients and families; plans activities for social and emotional growth.
• Participates in Child and Family Team Meetings to support client needs.
• Provides crisis intervention as needed and helps develop crisis plans.
• Maintains timely and accurate notes, charts, and reports per standards; documents electronically or on paper.
• Transports program participants to court appearances, appointments, and off-site activities.
