CHAIL in Peoria, IL is seeking a Behavioral Management Specialist to join our team. The role involves collaborating with crisis intervention staff, monitoring the behavior management system, and de-escalating students while providing timely feedback to staff and families.

The position emphasizes flexibility, calm decision-making, and day-to-day movement away from desk work, with opportunities to influence school-wide practices and staff development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in social work or behavioral science field.
• Three years of full-time experience working with behavior and emotionally disturbed youth.
• Paraprofessional Certificate (or ability to obtain) required at the time of application.
• Thorough knowledge of youth development, trauma, special education, and school-based systems.
• Experience working with youth and children exposed to trauma.
• Able to work on a multi-disciplinary team.
• Able to give effective feedback.
• Ability to use computer technology.

Responsibilities

• The Behavior Management Specialist is responsible for effective behavior management policies within Kiefer School and the Academy for Autism, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and consistent implementation of motivation systems.
• The Behavior Management Specialist is also responsible for the training and supervision of staff in the use of behavior management, gathering and disseminating data, and providing feedback to staff.
