Job summary

Eaton County is seeking staff to supervise and care for youths in the CBT wing of a Youth Facility. You will supervise residents, counsel on crisis situations, and participate in assessments to support treatment plans.

Responsibilities include safety oversight, reporting, coordinating health care, and leading group activities. A valid Michigan driver’s license is required; prior experience with at-risk youths is preferred.

Qualifications

• 30 semester credits of college level coursework in the human services area.
• One year experience working with delinquent or emotionally troubled youths and/or families. Prefer experience in a 24-hour facility.
• Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of the Youth Facility and occupants; supervise youths on shifts.
• Counsel youths; conduct crisis counseling and prepare written observations.
• Implement treatment programming and token economy; lead group sessions and activities.
• Complete intake and discharge procedures; manage housekeeping and related tasks.
• Coordinate health care for youths and transport to medical appointments.
• Monitor youths' behavior and report concerns to appropriate personnel.
