Youth Basketball Site Lead — Weekend Programs

Job summary

The City of Burlington seeks a Youth Basketball Site Coordinator to supervise basketball programs at designated sites (Boys & Girls Club, Champlain Elementary, or Hunt Middle). Strong leadership and experience with children in athletics are preferred; Saturday mornings are required from 8:30am to 3pm, December 5–February 13.

Responsibilities include on-site safety, game oversight, volunteer coach supervision, and proper report of incidents.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in professional development.
• Previous experience working with children in group or athletic settings preferred.
• Hold or obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification upon hiring.

Responsibilities

• Follow all department rules and regulations.
• Oversee Saturday practices and youth league games.
• Assist Athletics Program Manager in supervising volunteer coaches and officiating and scorekeeping as needed.
• Check area for safety hazards and report deficiencies.
• Administer First Aid as required.
• Be on site 30 minutes before program start for setup and safety checks.
• Tear down and clean up at the end of the program.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Communicate professionally with participants, volunteers, referees and staff.
