Job summary

Wilmette Park District is seeking a Youth Basketball Scorekeeper. The role involves accurately recording scores, tracking game time, and documenting game information during youth basketball games. It is a part-time, short-term position with benefits listed in the employee program.

The scorer will work with officials and staff to ensure games run smoothly and comply with park district rules. Must be at least 16 years old and able to work weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to articulate age-specific basketball rules to participants, coaches, and parents/guardians.
• CPR/First Aid certificates within three months of hiring, provided by the Park District.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the scorer’s table, scorebook, scoreboard, and seating areas before play.
• Inspect the court and surrounding areas for safety before games.
• Submit timesheets and game results to the Athletic Department on time.
• Return equipment after games and keep gym areas clean and organized.
• Interact positively with youth, coaches, parents/guardians, and team members.
• Communicate with Park District staff and supervisors as needed.
