Job summary

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Phoenix seeks a Sports Instructor I to teach beginners and intermediate learners in various sports, providing safe, engaging sessions and following the coach's handbook for consistency and clarity.

You will attend trainings, deliver constructive feedback, maintain accurate incident reports, and uphold The Salvation Army policies while fostering a fun, inclusive learning environment for children and parents alike.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years old or older.
• Experience in sports or coaching preferred.
• Ability to relate well with people and maintain a friendly, service orientation.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred; background check required.
• Ability to meet health and safety regulations.
• Strong physical and mental health for active sports environments.

Responsibilities

• Teach beginners and intermediate learners in assigned sport.
• Communicate with groups clearly and enthusiastically.
• Provide development guidelines following the coaches handbook.
• Attend coaches meetings and trainings.
• Provide feedback on participants’ performance.
